Digital Edition

Q: Where can I get the Interior Design magazine iPad app?
A: This free app is available in the iTunes store. Download it from the Apple App Store or through the Newsstand folder on your iPad desktop. (You have that folder if your iPad is running iOS 5+.) The Interior Design app consists of a free library in which you can subscribe to the digital magazine or buy and manage individual issues. If you are already a digital or bundle (print+digital) subscriber, you can log in to view your digital issues with your account number and zip code.

Q: What is the difference between the Interior Design iPad edition and the Interior Design print subscription?
A: Our iPad edition offers the same content as our print version. Please note that this digital edition is compatible with any iOS device such as your iPhone or iPad.

Q: Is there a digital edition of Interior Design magazine that's compatible with Android devices?
A: Yes. Interior Design is available on Google Play. You can also purchase Kindle-compatible subscriptions through the Kindle newsstand and a Nook subscription through Barnes & Noble.

Q: How do I get around the magazine?
A: Just as in print, you can explore Interior Design magazine page by page or by skipping around. Swipe across with one finger to turn one page at a time, or tap the screen once to navigate the thumbnail preview and jump among pages.

Q: If I'm an Interior Design magazine print subscriber, is the digital version included with my subscription?
A: The digital IOS version is included with your subscription. We cannot offer print/digital bundles with the Google Play, Kindle or Nook digital versions at this time.

Q: I just purchased a subscription including the iPad edition through the Interior Design magazine website. How do I begin receiving copies?
A: If you have not yet downloaded the Interior Design magazine app from the iTunes store, please do so. This app is available for free. Do not purchase anything else from within the app, as your subscription is already paid for. The first time you open the app after downloading; tap the cover of an issue you would like to download/read, then:
  1. Press "Sign In" or "Print Subscribers Login" (this varies by digital reader)
  2. When prompted, type in the 6-digit account code located on the label of your magazine and the zip code you used when signing up for your subscription. Note: There is a second location on your label with a seven digit number but the seventh number does not apply to your digital subscription.
  3. Close the Sign-In window and press the cover image again; subsequent issues in your subscription will be published here as well.
  4. The selected issue will begin to download.
Q: I submitted my information, but it couldn't find my subscription. What should I do?
A: Make sure you entered your information exactly as they appear on your magazine mailing label. If we still cannot locate your account, please call Subscriber Services at 1-800-900-0804.

Q: I have a login from Interior Design, but I don't remember my password. Can I reset my password?
A: If you are a print subscriber, your log in information will always be the account number on your magazine label and the zip code associated with your account. However, if you are a digital only subscriber, your account is tied to your iCloud account and is managed through Apple. Q: I don't see the issues I've purchased or downloaded before.
A: If the issues you've purchased are not listed in your Library, first make sure you're on the same iTunes account you originally purchased the issues with. If so, tap the gear icon in the upper right corner of the Library tab and select "Restore Previous Purchases," which will allow you access to all issues you're entitled to. If that doesn't solve it, please let us know by contacting customer service.

Q: How do I buy more single copy issues?
A: Click on the cover image for the issue you wish to purchase. If you are not already a subscription account holder logged in, you will have an option to purchase that issue for a set price. Tap the price, confirm your purchase, and the issue will appear in your library. There you can tap the button to download it.

Q: How do I access new issues on my subscription?
A: If you purchase a subscription through Interior Design and are using the Apple iOS 5+ operating system, new issues will download automatically in the Apple Newsstand folder. You will be notified when a new issue is available. If you are on the Apple iOS 4 operating system, you will still get a notification from Interior Design about the new issue, but it is necessary for you to manually download new issues as they become available.

Q: How do I cancel my subscription or get a refund?
A: To cancel your subscription or get a refund for unserved issues, email subscriptions@interiordesign.net or call 1-800-900-0804. We can only issue refunds on iPad subscriptions purchased directly through Interior Design. For iPad subscriptions purchased from Apple, please refer to Apple's instructions on their support page.

Q: Can I transfer my subscription to another device?
A: You may access your purchased issues or subscription on another iPad running the Interior Design magazine app if you are signed in with the same iTunes account. Just download the app, make sure you are signed in to the same iTunes account you originally purchased the subscription with, and select "Restore All Purchases."

Q: My issue is stuck at the "processing stage". What do I do?
A: This happens occasionally when the iPad interrupts the process of the issue. Typically restarting the app will resolve the issue. If not, you can always delete and re-install the app. You will never have to pay again for something you've already purchased, as long as you're on the same account. On reinstall, you'll see a box asking if you wish to restore previous purchases. Press "Yes". If you miss that box, just tap "Restore Previous Purchases" by pressing the cog wheel in the upper right corner of the app to get back access to all previously purchased issues and subscriptions.

Q: I don't see all the issues I've purchased.
A: First, make sure you're signed in to the same account you purchased the issues with. If so, select "Restore Previous Purchases" by pressing the cog wheel in the upper right corner of the app. If this does not solve the problem, please contact customer service.

Q: How do I delete an issue?
A: The app does not allow for individual issues to be removed, however if you click on the cog wheel in the upper right of your screen, you'll have an option to "Clear Cached Content". Clicking this will remove all downloaded content from your device's cache and allow you to re-download the items you'd like to have accessible going forward.

Q: My app keeps crashing.
A: If you have not yet downloaded the Interior Design app from the iTunes store, please do so. This is a free app available at the iTunes store. Unfortunately, some iPad 1 users have experienced problems with the app crashing. If this happens, you should be able to fix it by following these steps:
  1. Close all running apps. (Double-click the Home button, press and hold on the app icons in the bottom list until they start shaking, then tap the "X" on each to close the app.)
  2. Shut down the iPad. (Hold the Power key then slide the red bar when prompted.)
  3. Turn the iPad on again. The app should now work fine.
